About This Style
Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where textiles were produced in small village workshops using regional floral motifs. Distressing is a hallmark of this category, where selective fading or overdying creates a ghost-pattern effect, revealing the structural history of the rug beneath the surface wash.
Where It Works
The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or placing in spaces with underfloor heating.
